Brexit: The biggest event of the 21st century

The historic vote that took place in the UK on June 23rd is seen by many as the most significant event of the 21st century. Prime Minister Cameron is even resigning from his post in a few months. His address to the entire world was clear on that.

But what does it mean for the rest of the EU. The president of the European parliament Martin Schulz, wants Britain out of the Union as soon as possible. Maybe their intention is to stop any further attempt by other EU members to exit the Union. In any case, the stock markets around the world took a severe beating today. The investors and traders consensus was that the exit of the UK from the Union only had a 25% chance of succeeding. But the UK people decided otherwise.

The critical moment came at around 11:50 PM EDT when the BBC predicted the win for the exit of the UK from the EU.

Now that the dust is starting to settle, we are seeing other members like Italy, France, Holland and Denmark calling for their own referendums. These callings demonstrate that the EU is not very well perceived anymore. The centralized power in Brussels will suffer greatly and we’ll probably see the dismantlement of the Union in a relatively short period of time.

This important event in human history demonstrates that centralized power cannot work. We need to find new ways to collaborate between nations. We also need to end the corporate control of governments. Yours truly believes firmly that the geo-political arena will change dramatically in the very near future. PM Cameron will not be the last European leader to resign from his post.
